Benefitting from significant investment from the European Regional Development Fund, and national funding, Blackburn is seeing resurgence. Blackburn was once a thriving industrial hub on the edge of the Ribble Valley and neighbouring the West Pennine Moors. A former mill town, its heritage is very much woven in its own fabric.
It grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution, but then fell sharply in to decline. As such it’s had its fair share of socio-economic problems in recent years. It’s good to see it being revitalised.
