Of course home to the world-renowned university city, Cambridgeshire has a lot more to offer besides. Cambridge itself is a place where history and academia come alive, with interesting unique museums and opportunities such as the Botanic Garden.
However, head out of the city to the gentle countryside beyond and you’ll find an immense number of exquisitely ‘English’ villages. To the north and east the county begins to bump in to the Fens, and Oliver Cromwell territory. Cambridgeshire’s waterways, when explored by boat, allow you to feel that you’re stepping back in time to an England before cars.
