Just 8 miles north-west of Birmingham, and only 6 miles east of Wolverhampton, it’s easy to overlook Walsall as not having a distinct personality. You’d be wrong! This former industrial town is a unique spot on the map, and home to a disproportionately large number of things to do for a town of this size.
Children particularly love converging to feed the water birds at Walsall Arboretum or riding the Chasewater Railway pretending to be station master. Points of interest also include the fascinating Walsall Leather Museum as well as the popular Aston Manor Road Transport Museum. Step a little outside the town to Sandwell Valley Country Park, a perfect spot for a picnic.
