Merseyside is a metropolitan county to be found in the North West, most famous for the city of Liverpool. As well as Liverpool, the area includes four other metropolitan boroughs: St Helens, Knowsley, Wirral and Sefton.
Merseyside as a whole is all about city-living. With Liverpool being famously the home of the Fab Four – The Beatles – it draws the crowds. However, there’s so much more to Merseyside. St Helens is renowned for both rugby and its glass-making heritage. There is the thought-provoking Gormley art installation found on Crosby Beach. Formby Point, one pocket of Merseyside, is one of the few remaining places you may spot a red squirrel.
