A small city, made famous by its cathedral, Lincoln consists of ‘downhill’ and ‘uphill’ connected by the aptly named Steep Hill. There is a mixture of history and modernity here in terms of shopping and cultural events, in a city surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Lincoln is also important to aviation history following production during World War II. The area then went on to become important for gas turbine engines. Despite decline, many are still employed in this area within Lincoln. Employment is also found in belting and hose manufacture.
