Sitting in the Cotswolds, Cheltenham is an old spa town just an hour from both Bristol and Birmingham. Perhaps most famous for the Cheltenham Festival, this is when the town plays host to 4 full days of horse racing each March, culminating in the awarding of the Gold Cup.
However, there is much more to Cheltenham. The town is worth a visit to enjoy the grandeur of the Regency buildings which includes the Pittville Pump Room. Culture enthusiasts are also able to explore fine art in the Wilson Museum as well as paying a visit to the impressive Victorian Everyman Theatre. Cheltenham is a thriving town, also enjoyed for its shopping possibilities.
