In the south west of England, Gloucestershire is a county which lays claim to the Cotswold Hills, the Forest of Dean and a wide range of market and spa towns. Gloucester is of course the county town, but also of importance are Cheltenham, Cirencester, Stroud and Dursley.
Gloucestershire is also home to a large number of Cotswold villages and hamlets. Wending your way on the lanes between these you can feel as if you’ve stepped back in time, particularly if you catch a sight of a roe deer!
Gloucestershire is renowned for its annual Double Gloucester cheese rolling event which brings much hilarity, as well as its summer love of cricket.
