If you like breath-taking views then County Down is where you can climb the Mountains of Mourne, famed for being the inspiration for Narnia. Beneath the mountains you’ll find the lush trails of Tollymore Forest Park with the Shimna River. Mount Stewart is where you should head if you love roaming formal gardens. Game of Thrones enthusiasts are indulged with a visit to Castle Ward (a.k.a. Winterfell).
County Down is St Patrick’s resting place, and as such, it’s worth a visit to Down Cathedral as well as to the Saint Patrick Centre in Downpatrick.
