Oxford itself has roots back in the Saxon era, yet whilst touring the hallowed halls of the university, you should also spot familiar scenes from the thoroughly modern-day Harry Potter.
There is a plethora of distinctive and outstanding museums here, shopping to rival London, and the incredible Blenheim Palace just a stone’s throw away. However, just to the east of this city, you’ll find the magical woodlands of the Chilterns, and to the east the idyllic villages of the Cotswolds.
